Screaming Skull, or
Can the pain of the dead be heard?
Main inspiration gleamed from a very talented prop artist, check out his work:

Here is the starting point.

This is a 4th generation skull from ebay, $12.99 a piece. Not sure how it compares to an ACC Skull, but I will find out.

To begin, I ripped out the springs for the jaw and all the silly hardware that came on this skull.

Can't get the effect I am going for with all that misc. hardware in the way.

Pictures are taken with my phone, when I get further along I will dig out the digital and take some better pics.

Time to put the jaw bone back on.  I just used a wire coat hanger to "hang" the jaw open.

Looking for the moaning, wailing look of the damned.

I then used clear packing tape to add some strength to the open area between the skull and the lower jaw.

A little bit of black spray pain went into the eyes and nose cavities.

You might not be able to see clearly in this picture, but I also extracted 3 of his teeth.  Nothing difficult, this skull had 3 removable teeth, so I yanked'em.

These 3 pictures are after I began layering on "paper machete", or actually layers of wet paper towels and carpet adhesive.  I preparing to under take this project, I read several sites discussing their method of glue for paper machete.  I found one site that mentioned carpet adhesive and it sounded like it worked very well.  It gets tacky faster then anything else and dries nice.  The other plus is that has some substance, so you can use the glue itself for adding detail to the skull.  That will come later.

As of last night, here is my skull with 4 or 5 layers of paper towels and 2 layers of newspaper.  I am going to let it dry completely before I add more layers and start on the back.
Almost Done!!!  One arm is ending in a bloody stump!
COMPLETED!!! Clothes and Hair!!!!
